This collection presents 35 original Ricky Nelson recordings drawn from EPs issued in the US, the UK, France and Sweden between 1957 and 1962.
It avoids his biggest, well-known hits, featuring just a few charting B-sides, alongside further flips and lesser-known LP tracks.
Nonetheless, many of these sound like they would have made strong A-sides - indeed, several had been cut as potential topsides.
Legendary guitarist James Burton can be heard to great effect throughout, notably on rockin’ sides like There Goes My Baby, My Bucket’s Got A Hole In It, Milk Cow Blues and Poor Loser.
Several of Ricky’s 1962 recordings are difficult to find elsewhere on CD.
