The Tremolo Beer Gut • Under The Influence Of... LP (Vinyl)
Formed in the back of a tour bus by Sune Wagner (The Raveonettes, Psyched Up Janis) and Yebo, The Tremolo Beer Gut quickly carved out their own gloriously offbeat musical world. Blending Surf, Western themes, Garage Rock and cinematic instrumentals into what they proudly called Surf'n'Western, the band built a cult following through its unique sound and tongue-in-cheek sense of humour.
Originally released in 2000, Under The Influence Of... expanded on the acclaimed debut while remaining true to the band's wonderfully eccentric philosophy. Recorded entirely in mono at a time when virtually everyone else was chasing bigger and brighter stereo productions, the album embraces the punch, warmth and directness of classic instrumental recordings. Highlights include Agent Tremelo, The Sleaz-e-nator, The Last Booze Fighter, Theme From The Beer Hunter and the Jon Spencer collaboration Tahonga Lounge Babe (Most Groovy).
Unavailable for more than twenty years, this long-awaited reissue celebrates the band's 25th anniversary and gives collectors another chance to own one of the defining albums of the Surf'n'Western underground. An essential LP for fans of Surf, Garage Rock, instrumental Rock 'n' Roll and anyone who appreciates music made with equal measures of imagination and irreverence.
