Thee Caesars Of Trash captures Thee Mighty Caesars in gloriously raw and primitive Garage Rock mode, with Billy Childish handling guitar and vocals alongside John Agnew on bass and Graham Day on drums, percussion, harmonica, organ and flute. Originally released in 1985, the album is another fine example of the stripped-back sound and uncompromising songwriting that made the band such an important part of the Medway garage scene.
Childish originals including It's You I Hate To Lose, Man Taken From Guts, Don't Say It's A Lie, Devious Means, I've Been Waiting, True To You and Don't Break My Laws sit alongside a suitably rough-edged selection of covers. The set takes in Oh Yeah, All Night Worker, Not Fade Away, Link Wray's Jack The Ripper and The Sonics' Psycho, all delivered with the band's unmistakably primitive approach.
