The Courettes deliver a superb 13-track collection of Garage Rock and Rock ’n’ Roll on The Soul Of… The Fabulous Courettes. Recorded at StarrSound Studios in Denmark and produced by C.T. Levine, the album showcases the band's energetic sound while bringing in a broader range of instrumentation, including piano, organ, Mellotron and horns.
From the opening You Woo Me and California through Keep Dancing, Here I Come, Wall Of Pain and Shake!, the album combines raw Garage Rock energy with strong melodies and plenty of character. California and Run Run Runaway feature guest vocals from legendary singer La La Brooks, adding another distinctive voice to the mix.
There's plenty more to enjoy across the second half, including Boom Boom Boom, Better Without You, Lies, Stop! Doing That and the closing For Your Love. With Flávia Couri handling vocals, guitar, bass and keyboards and Martin Couri providing drums, vocals and percussion, The Soul Of… The Fabulous Courettes is a vibrant and varied album that shows just how much colour The Courettes can bring to their Garage Rock sound.
