The Songs That Shaped The Cramps CD

Memorably fronted by singer Lux Interior and guitarist Poison Ivy Rorschach, The Cramps represented the point at which Hasil Adkins, The Stray Cats, Johnny Cash and Mad Magazine may have collided, heads-on, in a 1950s Roger Corman B-movie.
Deranged live performers, they were once described as “Rockabilly on steroids” (probably in either NME or Sounds), which fitted them perfectly.
This collection presents thirty-four weird, wonderful and wildly out-there greasy Rockabilly and Rock 'n' Roll 45s which were major contributors to their musical journey.
The Cramps cut their own revivals of many of these songs or featured them in their live sets, while they stole elements of others, incorporating them into new, original songs.
