The first-ever CD release of Mad For It, the acclaimed second studio album from The Deltas, one of the most exciting bands to emerge from the early 1980s Rockabilly revival. Alongside The Polecats, Restless and The Blue Cats, The Deltas helped inject youthful energy into the Rockabilly scene, inspiring a new generation of fans as Psychobilly was beginning to emerge.
By the time Mad For It was recorded, The Deltas had expanded into a five-piece with the addition of Boz Boorer of The Polecats on guitar, who would later achieve worldwide recognition through his work with Morrissey. The result was a more ambitious and adventurous album, broadening the band's sound while retaining the energy that had made them such a popular live act. Although its more mature approach initially surprised some fans, Mad For It has since come to be regarded by many as The Deltas' finest album.
Unavailable on vinyl for many years, this smart digipak edition brings together the complete 11-track album with four bonus tracks from the highly sought-after You Can't Judge A Book EP, originally issued as a limited vinyl-only release. The 15-track set includes the title track alongside “Whip It Up”, “Electric Chair”, “Hit The Road Jack”, “Gimme The Drugs” and “No More No More No More”, plus all four tracks from the rare EP.
