The Hunters • Teen Scene, The Storm & Beyond CD

Teen Scene, The Storm & Beyond CD is a 36-track collection celebrating The Hunters, one of the British instrumental groups to emerge during the golden age of twangy guitar rock ’n’ roll. Formed in 1959, the band had strong musical links with Cliff Richard and The Shadows, building a repertoire of lively instrumentals and stylish interpretations of contemporary hits.

This comprehensive collection brings together the group’s recordings from 1961 and 1962, including single and LP versions of “Teen Scene”, “Golden Earrings”, “Tally Ho”, “The Storm” and “How’s M’Chicks”. Alongside instrumental favourites such as “Santa Monica Flyer”, “Petite Fleur” and “Misty”, the five bonus tracks feature backing performances with Dave Sampson, Danny Rivers, Gerry Temple and Michael Cox.

With 36 tracks covering the band’s instrumental recordings and additional sessions, this CD offers an excellent opportunity to explore a less celebrated name from the British rock ’n’ roll boom. A worthwhile addition for fans of vintage guitar instrumentals, collectors of early British beat and rock ’n’ roll, and anyone who enjoys the sound of the Shadows-era instrumental scene.
