The Surfin' Wombatz • Menagerie Of Abominations 10" LP (Yellow Vinyl)
The Surfin' Wombatz unleash seven brand-new studio recordings on Menagerie Of Abominations, a yellow-vinyl 10-inch mini-album from one of the UK psychobilly bands to emerge from London's legendary Klub Foot scene. Recorded in 2017, this collection brings together the band's love of horror, dark humour and hard-driving psychobilly.
Fronted by Uggy Wombat, with Sean Of The Teds on guitar, Thee Hairy Slapper on double bass, Roy Orpington on drums and Billy Funnions on washboard, the band deliver a wonderfully offbeat collection of original songs. From “Bald Billy Boogie” and “Dr Sathan's Chopper” to “Bonobo A Go-Go”, “Surfin' R'yleh” and “I Sell The Dead”, the album combines pounding rhythms, slapping bass and a gloriously macabre sense of fun.
With its striking yellow vinyl and seven original tracks, Menagerie Of Abominations is a fine addition for psychobilly fans and collectors of the UK scene. If you like your rockin' music loud, strange and steeped in the spirit of the Klub Foot era, The Surfin' Wombatz have just the monster for your record collection.
