The Stellar Corpses • Greetings From Murderville CD
Greetings From Murderville marks the long-awaited return of Psychobilly scoundrels The Stellar Corpses, fronted by the multi-talented Dusty Grave. More than 10 years after their previous full-length album, the band return with 13 brand new original tracks packed with razor-sharp guitar riffs, powerful vocal melodies and cleverly macabre lyrics. It's a welcome comeback from a band whose distinctive combination of melody, attitude and dark humour has earned them a loyal and ever-growing following.
The album gets straight into the action with Thou Shalt Not Die, Halloween 1970 and the title track Murderville USA, before moving through the darker Must Be Breaking You, Leaving Santa Carla and Mary. Last Corpse Standing, Face Your Fears and Rehab Romance keep the Psychobilly energy high, while Nocturnally Yours, Living In A Black Hole and Moments Before The Atomic Bomb take the band's macabre imagination into increasingly sinister territory. The set closes with Pretty When You Die, bringing 13 original songs of dark-edged, guitar-driven Psychobilly to a suitably morbid conclusion.
With it's blend of Psychobilly, Horror Punk and dark Rockabilly, Greetings From Murderville is a particularly welcome return. Ten years away from the album format clearly haven't dulled The Stellar Corpses' appetite for sharp riffs, strong melodies and twisted subject matter. With 13 brand new originals and Dusty Grave leading the charge, this is exactly the sort of comeback their growing fanbase has been waiting for.
