Space 1991 7" Single (coloured vinyl)

Man… or Astro-Man? • Space 1991 7" Single (Pink Marble Vinyl)

Blast off with Man… or Astro-Man?, the Alabama surf-rock experimenters who fuse vintage instrumental twang with punk energy and a gloriously space-age outlook. Originally released in 2021, Space 1991 marked a welcome return to recording for the intergalactic four-piece, delivering a three-track 7-inch single that hurtles between atmospheric electronics, sharp-edged surf guitar and alternative rock.

The title track is a punchy instrumental surf mission, while “Memory Machine” opens proceedings with a brief atmospheric transmission. “10th Planet” shifts into a more danceable, new-wave-influenced sound and is a cover of “Tenth Planet” by British duo Solid Space. Together, the three tracks showcase the band's knack for combining retro-futurist sounds with garage-rock spirit and an unmistakable sense of the absurd.

This is the third pressing of the single, presented on striking pink marble vinyl and spinning at 45 RPM. With its three-track format and distinctive coloured disc, Space 1991 is an appealing addition for surf-instrumental fans, garage and post-punk collectors, and anyone who likes their rock'n'roll transmissions beamed in from another galaxy.
