This Road is a superb collection of authentic-style Rockabilly from The Rockhouse Trio, a fine rockin' three-piece who combine original songs with a great selection of vintage covers. Played and sung with plenty of feel, this is traditional Rockabilly that stays true to the roots while delivering a thoroughly enjoyable modern performance.
The 14-track set gets things moving with My Advice before heading into a terrific run of familiar favourites including I Walk The Line, Act Naturally, Lend Me Your Comb, Jungle Rock and I Feel Fine. The band's original material sits comfortably alongside the covers, with This Is Me, Roughneck Blues, Baby She's Gone, My Love Is Just For You and the title track This Road adding plenty of their own character.
For fans of authentic Rockabilly who appreciate a good three-piece playing great songs without unnecessary fuss, This Road is a seriously enjoyable album.
