Peek-A-Bo finds Powersolo at their most gloriously feral, cramming trashy Rock 'n' Roll, fuzzed-out Blues and deranged Rockabilly swagger into four sweaty, caffeine-rattled tracks. Raw, stripped-back and gloriously unpolished, these recordings capture the band's lo-fi grit at its most addictive, with Powersolo throwing together primitive rhythms, distorted guitars and warped Rock 'n' Roll attitude into a seriously potent little package.
The A-side kicks off with Possessed By Bo Diddley, a suitably wild nod to one of Rock 'n' Roll's great originals, before Jungle Mungle keeps the primitive groove firmly in place. Flip the record over for the wonderfully titled Chronophobian Waltz and the equally intriguing Need To Know, completing a four-track assault that never hangs around long enough to become predictable.
For anyone who likes their Rock 'n' Roll and Garage Rock raw, weird and slightly unhinged, Peek-A-Bo is a seriously tasty little 7" EP. Four tracks, plenty of fuzz and absolutely no interest in behaving itself. Powersolo doing what Powersolo does best.
