After 40 years of turning up the volume and ignoring all sensible advice, The Monsters return with their ninth album, Off The Road We Go!. Formed in Bern, Switzerland during the youth culture explosion of 1986, the band have spent four decades developing their own wonderfully unruly blend of Garage, Trash, Boogie, Punk, Grunge and what they affectionately call Bern Metal. The result is 12 raw, noisy and gloriously fuzzy tracks that sound as though someone has plugged the rehearsal room directly into the mains.
Recorded in March 2026 in the band's rehearsal space with Robert Butler and his mobile Two Cent Recording Studio, the album was built from guitars, percussion, drums, bass and a collection of obscure organs and synthesizers rescued from flea markets and friends' basements. The resulting chaos was then handed to Detroit Garage Rock production legend Jim Diamond for mixing. From You Got Me Going and Let Me Tell You That Again through Fuck Shit Up, Off The Road and the gloriously defiant I Owe You Nothing, this is unapologetic Garage Punk'n'Roll with a decidedly Lo-Fi attitude.
