Nico Duportal & His Rhythm Dudes Dealing With My Blues LP (vinyl)
Rockin' Blues guitarist and singer Nico Duportal presents his fourth - and best album yet! With the predecessor, 2015's Guitar Player album, the sextet led by bandleader, songwriter, lead guitarist and singer Duportal made their real breakthrough. With Real Rockin' Papa from 2013 the band had already left an impressive business card. On Dealing With My Blues Duportal climbs to a new level and expands his musical horizons - although remaining firmly within the black American music of the 1940s and '50s. Blues, Jive, Swing and early Rhythm and Blues are the cornerstone of the songs, but the band has developed it's songwriting further. In addition to the main cast of drums, bass, guitar and two saxophones, Nico's pianist Olivier Cantrelle now adds some hot Hammond for a smokey atmosphere in many of the songs. This new album shows an impressive amount of variation and will promote this artist to the premiere division of the genre.
