Though not be as well remembered as some of his 1950s peers, Mitchell Torok did score two very big UK Top 20 hits in the mid-1950s and toured the country for over a month to support his unexpected success. Those hits were Red Light Green Light and When Mexico Gave Up The Rhumba - the former gives it's title to this 31 track collection of Mitchell Torok's most significant singles. A songwriter of considerable strength, Mitch wrote all his own hits. His biggest US hit 'Caribbean' that took nearly 5 years to hit the Billboard Hot 100 - originally issued in 1954 and charted in 1959. Oddly neither of his UK 30 hits made the US charts at all. Catchy and always ear-friendly, Mitchell Torok's recordings stand the test of time well.
