Philadelphia saxophonist Mike Pedicin was one of the pioneers of House Rock, the exciting musical blend of swing, rhythm & blues and hillbilly that helped pave the way for the birth of rock 'n' roll. Although his local rival Bill Haley would go on to achieve worldwide fame, Pedicin's own recordings remain among the most energetic and inventive dance records of the 1950s.
This outstanding collection gathers the very best of Mike Pedicin's rockin', rollin' and jivin' recordings made between 1952 and 1962 for a variety of labels. Alongside his US chart entries The Large Large House and Shake A Hand are much sought-after collectors' favourites including One Potato Two Potato, Hotter Than A Pistol and Burnt Toast and Black Coffee, showcasing the breadth of his remarkable recording career.
