Mario Cobo and his Guitar Posse Burnin' Daylight LP (vinyl)
Mario Cobo had been trying to complete this album for years, but between his projects with The NuNiles, Kim Lenz & her Jaguars, Los Mambo Jambo, Los Locos del Oeste and a host of other collaborations, there was just never time. But now, after months of intense work, here is Burnin' Daylight by Mario Cobo & His Guitar Posse. The album is a tribute to the styles of music that have been part Cobo's life for many years. He used a number of instruments: electric guitars, acoustic baritone guitar, a Fender Bass VI, a four-string bass, a steel guitar, a ukulele and even a Clavioline. The project takes us on a journey across a landscape of his musical tastes, with echoes Les Paul, Grady Martin, Jimmy Bryant, Jerry Byrd, Santo & Johnny, Link Wray, Buddy Merrill, Hank Garland, Chet Atkins, Phil Baugh, George Barnes, Roy Lanham and many other six-string magicians from the 1950s.
