Ron Holden is invariably categorised as a One Hit Wonder for the hypnotic ‘Love You So’, a major success in 1960.
However, his follow-up, ‘Gee But I’m Lonesome’, also charted later the same year and he went on to enjoy significant regional success with follow-ups.
Moreover, its powerful B-side, ‘My Babe’, has long enjoyed cult popularity among specialist Rock 'n' Roll collectors.
This 22 track collection gathers together just about everything that Holden cut between 1959 and 1962 and by way of bonus tracks includes a couple of sides by his earlier group, The Playboys, on which he is reputed to have contributed.
Also included are both sides of a single by “Rosie & Ron”, which is erroneously included on Ron Holden discographies; it isn’t actually him singing but is included herein to assuage completists.
