The Playboys • Jungle Fever / Shotgun 7" Single (Gold/Yellow Vinyl)
Get ready for a savage instrumental rock ’n’ roll dance-floor workout with The Playboys and their explosive 1959 debut, “Jungle Fever”. Featuring Scott Engle, later known to the world as Scott Walker, this vintage rocker is paired with the equally essential “Shotgun”, making for a double-sided blast of raw, high-energy instrumental rock ’n’ roll.
This colourful 7-inch reissue also uncovers a previously unissued alternate version of “Jungle Fever”, discovered on long-lost recording reels. With two distinct versions of the group's signature instrumental alongside “Shotgun”, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the early recordings of a musician who would go on to a remarkable career.
Pressed on striking limited-edition gold vinyl, this three-track release is tailor-made for vintage rock ’n’ roll DJs, garage rock fans and collectors of unusual early-1960s sounds. Whether you’re looking to shake up a dance floor or add an eye-catching coloured single to your collection, these Playboys instrumentals deliver the goods.
