Renowned for his gritty, soulful voice and a style rooted in the classic Soul, R&B and early Rock 'n' Roll of the 1950s and '60s, Hunter has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than four decades. He first emerged under the name Howlin' Wilf with The Vee-Jays, releasing his debut album Cry Wilf in 1986, before forming The James Hunter Six in 2013.
