Get ready for wild, revved-up Teddy Boy rockabilly from The Kentucky Boys, the excellent five-piece from Germany. Originally released in 1996, I Want It Hot delivers 15 tracks of guitar-driven rock ’n’ roll, packed with original songs, driving rhythms and plenty of raw rockabilly energy.
From “Wild Cruisin’ Cat” and “For A Few Chords More” to the stomping title track, the band keep the pace lively and the sound firmly rooted in rockin’ tradition. There’s also a cracking take on “Marie, Marie”, the classic by The Blasters, adding a dose of American roots-rock flavour to this distinctly European Teddy Boy sound.
This CD edition includes “Completely Changed”, a track omitted from the original LP, making it particularly worthwhile for collectors. If you like your rockabilly fast, loud and unapologetically rock ’n’ roll, I Want It Hot serves up a full set of greased-up rockin’ music.
