I'll Never is a superb album from The Heartbreakers, a band with a strong reputation on the British Rock 'n' Roll club scene. Led by the excellent vocals of Pete Hutton, they deliver a diverse selection of rockin' styles, mixing their own material with a terrific range of classic and more obscure covers.
The 12-track set gets things moving with I'll Never, You've Got Me, Crazy Little Baby and Perfect World, before moving through the rockin' Hep Cat Craze, Modern Don Juan and You Don't Love Me. The band's repertoire takes in songs associated with writers and artists including Buddy Holly and James Intveld, adding plenty of variety to a set that never strays far from the dancefloor.
With Pete Hutton's first-class vocals at the front and a band clearly at home on the British Rock 'n' Roll club circuit, I'll Never is a seriously enjoyable album for fans of classic and modern Rock 'n' Roll. Twelve tracks of great songs, varied rockin' styles and plenty of authentic club-scene energy.
