Exhumed & Groomed is a limited-edition rarities collection from UK Psychobilly outfit The Hangmen, dredged from the band's own vaults and packed with recordings that have either never previously appeared on a Hangmen release or were originally issued only on now-deleted vinyl singles. Remastered and presented in a four-panel Digipak, it's a fascinating collection of the band's darker, rough-edged material.
The 12-track set includes demo versions of album tracks such as Ugly, Deathwish, Whore For The Devil, Zombie World, Godkilla, Take It To The Grave and Goodbye Coffin Joe. Daemonfreakshow is particularly notable as the only version of the song to appear on a Hangmen release, while Bad Blood and Firewalker are alternate versions of tracks that were previously available only on vinyl singles. Stop That Monkey and The Curse also make their CD debut here after their original single releases.
With Loz Firewalker handling guitar, lead vocals and songwriting alongside drummer Spoony Pennywise, Exhumed & Groomed digs deep into The Hangmen's Psychobilly, Punk, Rock 'n' Roll and Garage influences. Originally released in 2014 as a limited-edition remastered CD, this is a suitably dark and unusual collection of demos, alternate versions and hard-to-find recordings rescued from the band's archives.
