The Cramps return to the vinyl racks with Fiends Of Dope Island, a gloriously twisted collection of Psychobilly, Garage Rock and Rock & Roll originally released in 2003. From “Big Black Witchcraft Rock” and “Papa Satan Sang Louie” through to “Dopefiend Boogie” and “Elvis Fucking Christ!”, this is The Cramps at their trashy, sleazy, swamp-soaked best.

This 2026 US reissue comes pressed on translucent pink vinyl, giving a suitably lurid makeover to one of the later Cramps albums. The set features Lux Interior on vocals, harmonica and maracas, with Poison Ivy handling guitar and theremin, joined by Chopper Franklin on bass and rhythm guitar and Harry Drumdini on drums. Poison Ivy and Lux Interior also share production duties.

With its combination of trashy Rock & Roll, warped Psychobilly attitude and wonderfully demented song titles, Fiends Of Dope Island is quintessential Cramps territory. The album includes the suitably monstrous “Fissure Of Rolando”, which is dedicated to actor John Agar, alongside “Taboo”, “She's Got Balls”, “Oowee Baby”, “Mojo Man From Mars”, “Color Me Black” and “Wrong Way Ticket”.
