Parisian trio Eddie & The Head-Starts make their debut with It Feels So Good, a superb album of authentic traditional Rockabilly recorded at Berlin's famous Lightning Studio. Fronted by Eddie Gazel on vocals and rhythm guitar, with Stephane Beaussart on lead guitar and Thibaut Chopin on bass and vocals, the trio capture the raw, swinging spirit of classic '50s Rockabilly while giving the music their own distinctive character.
From the driving Slow Boogie Rock and Rock Everybody to the bluesy Blues Stop Knocking At My Door and Midnight Blues, the album is packed with infectious rhythms, twangin' guitar and plenty of authentic Rock 'n' Roll attitude. There's also a good dose of variety, with the catchy Playmate, the lively The Cramp and the title track It Feels So Good all adding their own flavour to the set.
It Feels So Good is a strong debut from a band clearly steeped in the classic Rockabilly tradition. With 12 original songs covering everything from hard-driving Boogie and Blues to straight-ahead Rockabilly and Rock 'n' Roll, Eddie & The Head-Starts deliver an album with plenty of authentic '50s flavour and enough energy to keep the needle moving right through to Long Way To Go.
