Wild Boogie Combo • Wild Boogie Combo 7" EP (vinyl)
Wild Boogie Combo is a superb four-track 7" EP from French Blues-a-Billy outfit Wild Boogie Combo, delivering a raw and rootsy mixture of Rockabilly and Blues Boogie with plenty of old-school attitude. Led by guitarist and vocalist Jake Calypso and featuring harmonica from Ruine B., this is stripped-down, energetic Rockabilly in the finest tradition.
The A-side gets things rolling with Did You Stop Loving Me Baby? and I've Played Boogie In Your Garden, before the flip side delivers Get A Job Man! and a lively version of the classic That's All Right. Recorded at Midnight Studio in 2013, the four tracks have that direct, uncomplicated feel that makes a good rockin' 45 so much fun.
For fans of raw Rockabilly, Blues, Boogie and vintage-inspired rockin' sounds, Wild Boogie Combo is a great little EP. Four punchy tracks, plenty of guitar and harmonica, and a no-frills approach that gets straight to the heart of the music. A tasty addition to any rockin' vinyl collection.
