The Delmonas • Hello, We Love You! The Big Beat EPs 10" LP (Vinyl)
Get ready for a blast of wild, raw garage rock with The Delmonas and Hello, We Love You! The Big Beat EPs, an eight-track 10-inch vinyl collection bringing together the group's two original 1984 EPs. Featuring the distinctive vocals of Sarah Crouch, Hilary Wilkins and Louise Baker, this collection captures the trio's infectious blend of 1960s girl-group harmonies, primitive rock 'n' roll, rhythm and blues and garage-punk energy.
From the finger-clicking opener “Comin' Home Baby” and the driving beat of “Chains” to the gloriously off-kilter take on “Hello, I Love You”, The Delmonas give familiar material their own unruly twist. “I'm The One For You” brings a surf-tinged garage sound, “Peter Gunn Locomotion” delivers swampy, high-energy thrills, and “I Want You” closes proceedings with a sultry, organ-led groove. The collection also includes “Woa' Now” and “He Tells Me He Loves Me”, showcasing the songwriting partnership associated with Billy Childish and Micky Hampshire. The printed inner sleeve features liner notes by Kris Needs, including new interviews with all three members, alongside photographs by Eugene Doyen.
Ideal for fans of garage punk, vintage girl groups, rhythm and blues and the raw, no-frills sound of the 1960s revival, this 10-inch vinyl brings two sought-after early EPs together in one convenient package. Whether you're already hooked on The Delmonas or exploring the wild world surrounding The Milkshakes and the wider garage-rock scene, this is a wonderfully spirited slice of underground rock 'n' roll history.
