Deke Dickerson & The Whippersnappers - Honky Tonkin' Rhythm CD
Deke Dickerson teams up with The Whippersnappers for Honky Tonkin' Rhythm, his first long-player with the band and his first new album since the pandemic. Packed with 16 brand new songs, the album showcases Deke and The Whippersnappers at their wildest and most versatile.
The songs were written by Deke Dickerson together with Whippersnappers members Bert Avalos and Zander Griffith, covering a wonderfully broad stretch of American Roots music. There's plenty of wild Rockabilly, including Now That You're Gone, the title track and Great Big Cowboy, alongside classic 1950s-style Country numbers such as Bucket Of Blood and dramatic Western-flavoured songs like Payin' For That One Mistake.
From the hard-driving Battering Ram and Here Kitty Kitty through Visit From The Devil, Goin' Honky Tonkin' and Wild Wild Thing, Honky Tonkin' Rhythm keeps the energy and variety flowing. With Deke Dickerson's distinctive songwriting and guitar-led style combined with The Whippersnappers' powerful backing, this is a seriously entertaining album for fans of Rockabilly, Country and classic American Rock 'n' Roll.
