Celebrate forty years of rock 'n' roll history with Carl Perkins and friends on Blue Suede Shoes - A Rockabilly Session, a special 40th-anniversary CD and Blu-ray edition of the legendary 1985 television session. Recorded at Limehouse Studios in London in October 1985 and originally broadcast in 1986, this extraordinary gathering brings the pioneering rockabilly songwriter and guitarist together with George Harrison, Dave Edmunds and Rosanne Cash, along with Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats, to celebrate the music that helped shape rock 'n' roll.

Produced and directed by Dave Edmunds, the performance features Perkins revisiting classics including “Boppin' The Blues”, “Honey Don't”, “Matchbox”, “Blue Suede Shoes” and more of his rockabilly classics. The two-disc set includes the complete audio performance, a Blu-ray with stereo and ambient 5.1 mixes, previously unseen performances including “Sure To Fall” and “Right String Baby, Wrong Yoyo”, dress rehearsals, alternative camera edits and interviews featuring Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis. A 36-page booklet features an essay by music writer Peter Doggett and photographs documenting this remarkable meeting of musical legends.

More than a concert souvenir, this anniversary edition is a fascinating document of Carl Perkins performing alongside artists who grew up inspired by his songwriting, guitar playing and rockabilly sound. The combination of the complete session, additional footage, interviews and substantial booklet makes it an appealing package for classic rock 'n' roll fans, rockabilly enthusiasts and collectors of historic musical performances. Whether you're revisiting a favourite television special or discovering this all-star session for the first time, this CD and Blu-ray edition brings the music and its remarkable cast together in one comprehensive release.
