The Outlaws were one of the key British instrumental groups of the early 1960s, formed around the recording studio of legendary producer Joe Meek. Originally assembled as a backing group for Mike Berry, they soon established themselves in their own right with a distinctive mixture of instrumental rock 'n' roll, beat, pop and western-influenced sounds. This 28-track double CD brings together the finest of their own recordings, including the atmospheric Ambush, Swingin' Low, Valley Of The Sioux, Indian Brave and Fort Knox.

The Outlaws were one of the house bands at Meek's famous studio at 304 Holloway Road, recording material written by Meek under pseudonyms including Robert Duke and Peter Jacobs. Their work also connected them with a remarkable roll-call of artists, including Gene Vincent, Houston Wells, John Leyton, Geoff Goddard and Heinz, while their recordings with Mike Berry produced three hit singles. Alongside 19 instrumental cuts, this set includes seven Mike Berry performances, ranging from Don't You Think It's Time and Every Little Kiss to Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow and the Tribute To Buddy Holly.
