Attack Of The Zorchmen is an all-star Psychobilly album built around two seriously well-connected veterans of the scene: guitarist Doyley, formerly of The Klingonz and Guitar Slingers, and drummer Steve "Ginger" Meadham, whose CV includes The Meteors, The Highliners, The Ricochets and The Guana Batz. Put those two together and you already have one formidable Psychobilly line-up.
Things get even more interesting with an array of guests drawn from across the Psychobilly scene, including Nigel Lewis of The Meteors and The Tallboys, Graeme "Captain Drugbuster" Grant of The Krewmen and Demented Are Go, plus Dave Finnegan of Sharkbait and Scared Stiff. The result is a unique meeting of Psychobilly musicians, with Reloaded, Operation Timebomb, Spawny Git, Jungle Fever and the wonderfully titled Invasion Of The Saucer-Men delivering a suitably wild collection of Rockabilly-fuelled Psychobilly.
If you like your Psychobilly packed with familiar names, heavyweight scene connections and plenty of attitude, Attack Of The Zorchmen is a particularly entertaining slice of the genre's extended family. It is less a conventional band album than a musical meeting of some of the people who helped shape the British Psychobilly scene.
