The Buddy Holly of Garage Punk. Best known as the upright bass player with Swiss Punk-Rockabilly trio The Peacocks, Simon Langhard steps out on his own for Alone, his first solo album. Blending the spirit of 1950s Rock 'n' Roll with the raw energy and attitude of Garage Punk, this 2026 album reveals another side of one of Europe's finest Rockabilly musicians.
Recorded at DALA Studios in Winterthur, Switzerland, Alone features fourteen original songs written by Simon Langhard, with the exception of The Girl With The Wandering Eye, written by Eric Gouden. From the melodic Good Days Have Gone and Last Day through to 99 Percent, On The Outside Looking In and The Observer, Langhard combines classic songwriting instincts with a distinctly modern Garage Punk edge.
The album closes with three different versions of Rhythm Bound before finishing with Big Laughing, Hooray, giving the collection a suitably varied finale. With its mixture of 1950s Rock 'n' Roll, Garage Punk, Psychobilly, melodic songwriting and the unmistakable musical character of Simon Langhard, Alone is a fascinating new chapter from a musician already well known to fans of The Peacocks and the European psychobilly scene.
