Few British duos enjoyed such a spectacular breakthrough as The Allisons. In 1961 they came within touching distance of winning the Eurovision Song Contest with their self-penned Are You Sure, finishing runners-up to Luxembourg. The result proved no disappointment, as the song raced to the top of the UK charts, became a worldwide million-seller and established Bob Day and John Alford as one of the brightest new acts of the rock 'n' roll era.
Are You Sure brings together everything The Allisons recorded for Fontana Records between 1961 and 1962, including all six of their singles and their complete LP. Alongside the timeless title track are chart favourites Words and Lessons In Love, together with radio favourites What A Mess! and I'll Cross My Fingers. The album also features spirited versions of Rock 'n' Roll classics including That'll Be The Day, Be-Bop-A-Lula, It Doesn't Matter Anymore and Never Be Anyone Else But You, showcasing the close vocal harmonies that made the duo so distinctive.
