Warren Scott and The Memphis Playboys CD
Warren Scott's Memphis Playboys may appear familiar.
Three of the four band members are from Rockabilly scene favourites Jack Rabbit Slim - so that guarentees that this will be a popular release.
Although there are obvious similarities in the sound of the two bands, The Memphis Playboys have a more traditional 1950s Rockabilly and Western Bop sound.
That said, they retain the powerful delivery of JRS, so if you like one band that you'll like the other.
Some great original songs here, along with covers of Eddie Cletro, Pat Cupp and Slim Rhodes.  A certain rockin' scene hit!

Stripped down 1950s style Rockabilly from The SkipRats, one of the scene's best drumless authentic rockin' trios.
Nice mix of material with plenty of excellent original songs alongside the well-chosen cover songs.

The Humdingers • Hopped Up CD
Real rockin' Hillbilly and red hot Rockabilly from The Humdingers!
Putting the emphasis on fun, but there's no denying that they are a bunch of fine Rockabilly musicians despite not taking themselves too seriously.
They write some nifty originals as well as performing choice cover songs.
With so many bands obsessed with authenticity and image, it's refreshing to find a band whose priority is having a rockin' good time.
