The Yakety Sax Man 1958-1962 CD
• NEW RELEASE COMING SOON • PRE-ORDER NOW •
One of the most prolific recording artists of the Rock 'n' Roll Era, and certainly the most successful saxophonist in popular music, Boots Randolph recorded 29 albums and played on hundreds of recordings by other artists as a session musician.
This collection presents every side he released for RCA between 1958, when he was discovered by the legendary Chet Atkins, and 1962.
It includes his original recording of the now iconic Yakety Sax and its accompanying album.
In 1961 he moved to Monument Records, and his first four rare sides for the label are included here too.
Much of this material has been unavailable for decades.
