This superb 61 track double disc collection gathers all of the A and B sides of Smiley Lewis' Imperial Records 45s dating from 1950 and 1961.
During this time his scored hits with I Hear You Knocking (R&B chart #2 in 1955 - later a hit from Dave Edmunds), One Night (R&B chart #11 in 1956 - later a hit from Elvis Presley) and Please Listen to Me (R&B chart #9 in 1956).
He was also first to record Dave Bartholomew's song Blue Monday in 1954 - Fats Domino's version was a hit two years later.
