Hard to pigeonhole and gloriously eccentric, the band blend rock 'n' roll with surf-inspired sounds, garage-rock energy, quirky storytelling and a distinctly British sense of humour. Across 13 tracks, they take listeners on a musical tour of strange characters, mysterious happenings and offbeat tales, all delivered with the band's unmistakable personality.

From the surf-soaked “Demon Surfer” and the sci-fi-flavoured “Who's Gonna Watch The Skies (Now That Reg Is Gone)” to “The Chesil Beach Luau” and “Glam Rock Lock-In”, the album jumps cheerfully between musical styles and unlikely subjects. “Sheppards Barton, Special Agent” and “Michael Landon Bit Me” continue the band's taste for wonderfully oddball storytelling, while “Hoodoo On Me”, “Bloody Mary” and “When The Levels Break” add further variety. The collection closes with the wonderfully titled “So Long Baby, I'm Toast”, rounding off an album that refuses to sit neatly in any one musical box.

Ideal for fans of offbeat British rock 'n' roll, surf, garage and alternative roots music, The Curious World Of The Bad Detectives offers something different from the usual rockabilly formula. With 13 imaginative songs and a cult following built over years of recording and performing, this CD is a great choice for listeners who appreciate musical originality, sharp humour and bands that happily follow their own peculiar path.

Tracklist

1.
