Paul Peek was perhaps Rock 'n' Roll’s ultimate “nearly” man, remaining more famous for his role as one of Gene Vincent’s Blue Caps than for his own records.
Although a couple of his solo 45s were strong sellers, Paul somehow never quite made it, despite a succession of fine releases.
He nonetheless tasted success, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of Vincent’s Blue Caps.
This unique collection anthologises Peek’s own releases between 1958 and 1962, including collectables like Sweet Skinny Jenny, The Rock-A-Round (featuring Esquerita on piano), Olds-Mo-William, ‘Short Shortnin' and Brother-In-
Law, the latter being his only Top 100 entry.
As bonus tracks, it also includes selected Gene Vincent cuts from 1957 and 1958 on which Paul Peek made an audible contribution as a guitarist or singer, or were songs that he’d written.
