Eight of the songs on New Shade Of Black originate from the demos that Max did between 1995 and 2002, working himself on these tracks before getting them in the studio with The Flaming Stars.
These songs combine the original backing tracks with proper studio vocals and the occasional overdubs
Plus, there are two completely new versions of some of his songs.
The whole record has been completed at Ed Deegans fine Gizzard analogue studio, and the result is superb.
Many will know max from his many bands including Gallon Drunk, The Earls Of Suave and of course The Flaming Stars.
