This collection presents Joe South's first dozen 45s (A & B-sides) recorded between 1958 and 1962 for a variety of Georgia-based labels, plus a studio outtake and three of his early songwriting/production successes with other artists.
Features his earliest hits, alongside regional hits and collectors' rarities like I'm Snowed, What A Night, Play It Cool and Masquerade.
He went on to success as a songwriter and producer, and later enjoyed a successful second period as a singer - but this set focuses on his rock 'n' roll era recordings.
This is the first comprehensive overview of Joe South's early career, and a half-dozen of these sides have never previously appeared on CD.
