James Brown was the most influential artist in Black Music history, and this superb double disc set presents his earliest recordings, including entire content of his first two albums Please Please Please (1958) and Try Me (1959) originally released on King Records. There are also nine bonus tracks from all of his 1950s singles that were not featured on his first two LPs. Since his death James Brown's influence has continued unabated and these dynamic early recordings clearly show why.
