Guitar virtuoso Hank Garland was one of the founding fathers and anchormen of the celebrated Nashville A Team. In September 1961, at the age of only thirty, he was involved in a near-fatal car crash. He spent several weeks in a coma, and although he regained consciousness and made a partial recovery, he’d suffered brain damage and was never able to resume his career. This 33 track collection presents a snapshot of Hank’s session work between 1949 and 1961, including a couple of his own solo recordings. Although it includes several hits, it predominantly features collectors’ rarities, flipsides and album tracks. Artists include Autry Inman, Red Foley, Roy Hall, Marty Robbins, Wayne Raney, Webb Pierce, Warner Mack, Glenn Reeves, Jimmy Lloyd, Little Jimmy Dickens, Rusty & Doug Kershaw, Red Foley, Faron Young, Don Gibson, Janis Martin, Lefty Frizzell, Eddy Arnold, Carl Belew, Johnny Preston, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley and others. Several musical genres are covered, with a strong emphasis on his Rock 'n' Roll and Rockabilly sessions.
