Lucky Jim is the very last album Jeffrey Lee Pierce and The Gun Club recorded in 1994, and is probably the darkest record he made.
The most telling track on the album is A House Is Not a Home, an electric scorcher with Pierce telling his, and his band's, life story.
By the end The Gun Club was a band without a country, dismissed in their native America.
Pierce died on March 31 1996 aged 37.
