Fats Domino
In Session 1950-1957 CD

One of the cornerstone figures of Rhythm & Blues and Rock 'n' Roll, Fats Domino recorded The Fat Man - the first million-selling Rock 'n' Roll record - in December 1949, at the tender age of twenty-one.
His distinctive rolling piano style proved irresistible, and he was soon being copied by half the piano-players in New Orleans.
This collection features him as a sideman, accompanying other artists, with the exception of four powerful instrumental rarities from Fats’ own early catalogue.
The key people in Fats’ career were songwriter/producer Dave Bartholomew, with whom he wrote most of his hits, and producer/engineer Cosima Matassa, in whose modest recording studio they were recorded.
Other artists featured herein include Big Joe Turner, Lloyd Price, Smiley Lewis, Pee Wee Crayton and Roy Brown.
