The Best Of Frankie Ford 2CD
Frankie Ford made his first recordings in 1958.
The following year, he recorded a vocal overdub on Sea Cruise, a song written and originally recorded by Huey "Piano" Smith.
Since Huey's Smith's singer announced he was quitting the band, the record label decided to release Ford's version instead.
The resulting realease sold over a million copies, and gained gold disc status.
Frankie went on to score further chart hits with Alimony, Time After Time, You Talk Too Much and Seventeen, but none of them repeated the success of his Rock 'n' Roll classic Sea Cruise.
"He had the best voice in rock and roll," said Mike Shepherd of Louisiana's Music Hall Of Fame.
