Beltane Fire formed in 1985 from rockabilly group The Blue Cats.
Moving away from the rock 'n' roll scene, they combined elements of their rockabilly roots many diverse influences creating what was descibed as an "epic wide-screen sound".
Signed to major label CBS, they could, and perhaps should have become a major force in British Rock music.
They released just one album - Different Breed - and four singles.
The tracks on White Stag are a collection of previously unreleased recordings made between 1986-1989 that would have formed the basis of the band's second album.
