Memphis Morticians : 1,000,000 Delinquents CD
Savage Psychobilly stomp which mixes '60s Garage Punk and '50s Rockabilly in to the Psychotic blend. Raw, crazed and Rockin' Garagebilly Psychosis from New York's Memphis Morticians.
Review by SIMON NOTT:
Garageabilly freakout from New York’s finest.
This is tough stuff from the Memphis Morticians from New York who manage to successfully blend the best elements of 60’s Garage fuzz and good ole earthy 50’s Rockabilly. They have come up with a nasty but nice twisted little beast of a mini-album the heart of which is kept pumping by some real gone voodoo rhythm beating in anything but metronomic time.
That chaotic yet hypnotic beat is kept in check by a swirling twangsome guitar that is sometimes bathed in fuzz and others dancing like a demented Imp that has taken residence prancing around in your head, ‘Roll Them Bones’ being an example and I don’t want the little bastard evicted just yet. It all ends too soon but the replay button is there just for that.
