Best known as bass player of the Stray Cats, Lee Rocker's latest release tops this month's chart. "The Low Road" is a superb CD and DVD double disc set which see's Lee and his band perform a storming set of songs, cherry picked by Lee, which take you through his 40 year career. There are great versions of the hit songs from his early days with the Stray Cats, from his time playing alongside Carl Perkins and Scotty Moore, through to highlights from his career as a solo artist. All these tracks are reworked by Lee and his fantastic band, featuring Hot Rod Lincoln guitar ace Buzz Campbell.  There is a limited edition coloured vinyl release for collectors too.
When the first Rockabilly Revival of the 1970s hit Europe, the exciting North Texas sound of Sid King and the Five Strings led the charge and kept the dance floors busy with sure shots like "Sag Drag and Fall", "Purr Kitty Purr" and "Blue Suede Shoes". Over 40 years later, those great 1950s singles are still keeping the dance floors busy everywhere that great rockabilly is played. They’re all featured on "Sag Drag and Fall", sounding just as fresh as the day they were recorded. The A and B of every single that Sid and the Strings released between 1954 and 1961 can be found on this disc, along with some equally strong tracks that inexplicably failed to make the cut when they were recorded in the 1950s.
"Heel Grinder" is an unrelenting full throttle rock 'n' roll attack from scorching New York based 4-piece the Screaming Rebel Angel. They rip up some Rockabilly raunch and deliver it with a Punkabilly sneer - Incendiary stuff!
Other notable new releases come from UK rockabilly scene favourites Jack Rabbit Slim with a killer live album, Minneapolis-based blood harmony brother duo The Cactus Blossoms returning with a brand new album of all original songs, Rockabilly Filly Rosie Flores delivering her first Blues themed album, and Texas Country legend Dale Watson marking his relocation to Tennessee with Call Me Lucky, and album recorded at Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis.

Founded in 1984 as the Hal Peters Trio, their repertoire includes both self penned material and carefully chosen covers from the songbook of rockabilly legends such as Sid King, George "Thumper" Jones, Carl Perkins and Mac Curtis.
The band became popular pretty fast and today they are an established and highly acclaimed act within rockabilly circles.
Their debut album "Snatch It and Grab It" was released in in 1986 and it soon gained wider exposure and international distribution.
More albums and singles followed and somewhere down the line the band expended from a trio to a quartet to include a drummer.
Many gigs in Europe and the U.S.A. followed and Hal Peters and His Trio also backed 1950s legends such as Ray Campi, Joe Clay, Curtis Gordon, Mac Curtis and Hayden Thompson and also the Swedish Hank Edwards.
In the late 1980's the band expanded to a six piece combo and leaned more towards Western Swing, changing their name to Hal Peters & His String Dusters.
Now they are back in four piece line-up, and playing pure authentic rockabilly once again.
Hal Peters and His Trio's new album Crazy Mixed Up Blues showcases the band's the deep knowledge of the musical genre that they are devoted to.

A band called Sinful has been something of a mystery to Neo-Rockabilly and 1980s psychobilly fans - with interest stirred by a popular Youtube clip which captures a television appearance dating from 1983.
Apart from that song "Holywell Dene" on Youtube, little else was known about the band - until now.
The Sinful are back - now called Saint Dom & The Sinful - to put the pieces in place with this new album which takes the title from the song in that much viewed video clip.
It is brimming with excellent Neo-Rockabilly, touching on rockin' psychobilly - with superb original songs, enhanced by great production and performance.
Three decades on, the Sinful sound is finally captured on this truly top-notch Neo-Rockabilly release.

The end of the year means less new releases, and therefore not much change in our best sellers charts.
Once again the Rockabilly chart is headed by The Polecats recently released rarities collection "The Legend & The Truth", with competition coming from Swedish rockabilly trio The Go-Getters and German Rhythm & Blues aces Ray Collins' Hot Club.
New release making an impact come from UK trio The Mee Kats, led by the prolific Colin Mee who is well known as an ex-member of The Sureshots, his releases with The Skip Rats, and more recently he has also been releasing solo material.
Also new is Signature In Blood by longstanding German trio the Rockabilly Mafia who celebrated 30 years of rockin' in 2015 with their excellent "Row" album, and this follow-up is every bit as good. Rockabilly Mafia has a unique style of Neo-Rockabilly which has made them a cult band in their home country.
The psychobilly chart sees no change at Number One as genre originators The Meteors hold on to the top spot.
There are several new releases entering the top ten though, with Sweden's Nevrotix proving popular with their second album Alive. They stamped there mark on the scene a couple of years ago with their debut album "Paranoid", and they power onwards in their style of psychobilly which is firmly rooted in the Neo-Rockabilly tradition.
Also from Sweden are The Psychoward Breakouts, and from California, USA are Six Silver Bullets, two bands ready to make an impression on the international scene with their first CD releases.
And for vinyl Psychobilly collectors, Memphis Morticians and Vince Ripper's Rodent Show will appeal to fans of the Garage Trash side of the genre, both with new limited edition LP releases.
Heading the Rock 'n' Roll chart is an excellent low-price 3-disc set chock full of 1950s rockin' classics! "Teenage Rebel Party" gathers the biggest hitters of the Rock 'n' Roll era - Vincent, Berry, Cochran, Holly, Presley etc, punctuated with some lesser-known rockabilly gems from the likes of Don Willis, Joyce Green, Curtis Gordon and Jackie Morningstar. Perhaps the perfect introduction for someone new to Rock 'n' Roll - but also the ideal soundtrack to a road trip or a rockin' party.

The Polecats top the rockabilly chart for the second consecutive month with "Rarities - The Legend and The Truth", a collection of rare and unreleased recordings from one of the major bands of the 1980s rockabilly revival - but there is lots of competition for the top spot with great new releases from The Go Getters (Sweden), Scotty Baker (Australia), Ray Collins' Hot Club (Germany) and Rebel Dean (UK) all selling well.
The new Go Getters album "Love & Hate" is released just as the Swedish trio is nominated for the best rockabilly band at Ameripolitan Music Award 2018 in Memphis, Tennessee.
It is almost a decade since their previous album "Hot Rod Roadeo" appeared in 2008, and Love & Hate brings a mix of Peter Sandberg originals such as "Rattlesnake", "Song Get Me Started" and the title track, along with cover songs given the Go Getters rockabilly makeover.

The Polecats' "Rarities - The Legend & The Truth" CD is a collection of previously unissued tracks and rockin' rarities from one of the leading bands of the 1980s Rockabilly revival.
With Rockabilly music attracting a huge, young, international following, the major record companies invested in youthful bands that brought new energy and freshness to the genre.
Arista signed the Stray Cats, EMI signed the Jets, Virgin signed The Shakin' Pyramids and Mercury snapped up London 4-piece The Polecats - and with the input of ace producer Dave Edmunds, released on of the best rockabilly albums of the genre with "Polecats Are Go".
Hit singles and TV appearances capitalized on their success, with John I'm Only Dancing, Rockabilly Guy, Marie Celeste and Make A Circuit With Me climbing the charts.
This release gathers rarities from several different sessions, with highlights including Double Life, Keep Ringing You and Little By Little.
The accompanying booklet includes rare photos and new liner notes by Polecats guitarist Boz Boorer.
The pick of this month's psychobilly releases comes from genre originators The Meteors.
F**k The Bootleggers captures the band live and raw - a double CD collection of reclaimed bootleg material, given an official release, remastered for improved sound quality.
The set is brimming with pure psychobilly classics including fan favourites such as Shout So Loud, When A Stranger Calls, Graveyard Stomp, Mutant Rock, Rockabilly Psychosis, Chainsaw Boogie, Wreckin' Crew and many others.
