The Polecats top the rockabilly chart for the second consecutive month with "Rarities - The Legend and The Truth", a collection of rare and unreleased recordings from one of the major bands of the 1980s rockabilly revival - but there is lots of competition for the top spot with great new releases from The Go Getters (Sweden), Scotty Baker (Australia), Ray Collins' Hot Club (Germany) and Rebel Dean (UK) all selling well.
The new Go Getters album "Love & Hate" is released just as the Swedish trio is nominated for the best rockabilly band at Ameripolitan Music Award 2018 in Memphis, Tennessee.
It is almost a decade since their previous album "Hot Rod Roadeo" appeared in 2008, and Love & Hate brings a mix of Peter Sandberg originals such as "Rattlesnake", "Song Get Me Started" and the title track, along with cover songs given the Go Getters rockabilly makeover.
To Go Getters continue to be a major force on the rockin' scene, regularly appearing at the major festivals all over Europe and beyond.
Scotty Baker's third album "Lady Killer" is his best release to date - once again showing off his songwriting talents via 14 all-original compositions, as well as a fine voice that excels on every track from Country to straight ahead Rock 'n' Roll and everything in between.
This new release was recorded in the UK with some of the finest rockin' musicians including David Doel (guitar and bass), Darrel Higham (guitar), Stephane Swervy (saxophone) and Ezra Lee (piano).
Ray Collins' Hot Club bring some powerful swinging Rhythm & Blues to the chart. "1 to 5 Jive" is their eighth album, but even this far into their career they still manages to surprise and impress with their talent and the quality of their output.
